Acoording to details, Shehla had applied for the bulletproof vehicle eight years back, when she had received death threats from a militant outfit for speaking out against them. Shehla said that she had written an application to the Sindh government after the 2008 general elections.
She said that she had written the application after receiving threatening phone calls from a terrorist group. She said that obtaining bulletproof vehicles was an unpopular move however, for politicians who opposed terrorism, it was a necessity. “Slain Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Benazir Bhutto opposed the terrorist elements and sacrificed her life for future of our country,” she said.
