ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former law minister and secretary in Nandipur corruption scam to record their statements, source told Daily Times on Sunday.
They said the power project corruption scam had been pending with the NAB for the last many years as the investigation officers were yet to conclude the investigations. The NAB chairman has now directed the officers concerned to accelerate the probe into the power project corruption scam, added sources.
They said inordinate delay in offloading the imported material for the project had caused a huge financial loss to the national exchequer and also delayed execution of the project.
A senior NAB officer, requesting anonymity, told Daily Times that the whole record of the corruption scam was intact with the authority and there should be not fear that the record had been destroyed.
State Minister Abid Sher Ali had also stated that the nefarious designs of corrupt mafia could not be succeeded as the whole record of the scam was available with the government.
