KARACHI: Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Adviser to chief minister Sindh on Information Moula Bakhsh Chandio said that Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is responsible for the leaking of Dr Asim’s video.
Talking to media here on Sunday he held the Interior Minister responsible for the leakage of the video. He said that the interior minister had long been threatening to expose statements of arrested suspects and leaking of videos was a part of his plan. He added that Dr Asim was under detention of an institution which was working under Nisar. Chandio was also of the opinion that PPP leader’s statements were being used for political gains and he termed the leaking of video statement as a proof of Nisar’s ‘incompetence’.
The video shows Dr Asim accusing Owais Muzaffar aka Tappi of threatening him if he spoke against his corruption. Dr Asim had claimed that he had asked Tappi to stop playing with human lives through funds embezzlement in medical and health sector. Later, his counsel Anwer Mansoor Khan said that the statements were taken by making his client intoxicated by feeding drugs.
In another instance, another senior PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said that wherever some chaos is needed in the political matters, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique is the person responsible to accomplish that. Both PPP leaders spoke regarding the unrest in the country’s political front and held Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leaders blameable for that.
