ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to change its counsel in the Panamagate case on Friday.
According to reports, several people including Babar Awan and Naeem Bukhari are being considered as Hamid Khan’s replacement – after the previous hearing raised several eyebrows over his performance.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan made the decision after senior party leaders demanded the same – as they were of the opinion that Hamid, despite being a competent lawyer, disgraced the party in court
According to the party’s central leaders, Hamid failed to present the case in a way that would have attracted the judges’ confidence – but displayed PTI’s stance as unsubstantiated.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s children also changed their counsel earlier in the day and acquired the services of senior lawyer Akram Sheikh.
